Chopin with George Sands
This concert will be the story of Chopin and George Sand's ill-fated trip to Majorca, with music written there, together with extracts from their letters.
The piano is a Pleyel, now on loan to Houghton. It was once owned by the legendary French-Swiss pianist, Alfred Cortot (1877-1962). He was one of the most renowned musicians of the 20th century, and considered the finest Chopin interpreter of his day.
Tickets will be available at Prelude Records (01603 628319) or on the door, but booking ahead is strongly advised.
